Your heart has four valves that keep blood flowing. In Heart Valve Disease, one or more valves doesn’t work properly.
Both men and women may experience any of the following symptoms:
- Fatigue or weakness
- Shortness of breath, especially following activity or when you lie down
- Swelling of ankles and feet
- Dizziness or fainting
- Irregular heartbeat (rapid rhythms or skips)
- Quick weight gain (2-3 pounds in one day)
